Don't ever delete this blog, please. Leave it there for people to read, and to find the 'Soldiers' entry, if only for that.

God bless!

Whether they are in archive format or left identical to their current form, please never delete these inspirational stories and notes. They need to remain easily indexed by the search engines so others can continue to learn the truth and counteract the constant and massive dis-information campaign being waged.

Thank you for your service Sir, God bless you.

Thank you so much for this blog. I have shared your soldiers entry with many. It was very moving and I thank you for all the sacrifices you and your family have made for our country. And in case you were wondering, yes, people are still reading (and being moved by) your words. Please leave this up as long as you are able. Thank you!

Well aren't we patriotic. You know good and well that when the music stopped there was no command for the troops to stand at ease. Military disipline was the only thing contributing to the silence. People who have not been in the military do not know about that. You paint a picture that is all wrong. Wow if you paint that kind of picture about disipline what kind of picture are painting for your flock. Be careful your flock is in your hands. Be truthful.

I am impressed with the response of the soldiers involved. My hat is off, and all my respect and admiration goes out to them.

However, I am a little dismayed at Chaplain Higgins’ supposition of what would occur in the same circumstance back in the States with some young folks. Perhaps he hangs with the wrong crowds when he is stateside. There is a strong sense of patriotism and pride in our nation that this Chaplain needs to respect. The example…

Last weekend I made my annual trek to Indianapolis for the running of the “Greatest Spectacle in Racing”, The Indy 500. During Jewel’s singing of the National Anthem her microphone cut-out. Without missing a beat, what seemed to be the majority of over a quarter-million spectators, many of whom were 18-22 years old standing with hats off, continued to loudly sing the National Anthem until her microphone came back on…almost like she never left, in sync with the melody that the crowd continued to sing until her return.

I think it is appropriate to take issue with the Chaplain’s imagining that “there would be hoots, catcalls, laughter, a few rude comments, and everyone would sit down and yell...if they had stood for the National Anthem in the first place.” There’s no disputing there will always be instances of disrespect for the “Anthem.” But, my hat is also off to those among the 250,000 in Indianapolis who actually knew the words and naturally carried on when technology failed. This is not a question of “us vs. them”. it’s about “We The People…”
