The Heat Is On

Summer is arriving in Iraq. Yesterday afternoon we hit 104 degrees. The forecast for coming days is:

Today 107
Thursday 100
Friday 107
Saturday 96
Sunday 104

For those of you who like numbers, here are a few of the stats for my blog for the past week:

Page Loads: 1,589
Unique Visitors: 822
First Time Visitors: 613

I wonder how many of these people are from West Cobb County, GA? Hmmm. . .

My profile on the site now has 1,496 views which means I better change that picture!

Thanks for visiting. I'm leading our third Marriage Enrichment Workshop tomorrow morning. Pray for the Soldiers who will attend, that marriages might be strengthened.

You were mentioned on Blackfive today, so that may have something to do with all the first time visitors!

Every blessing for the workshop.

Jim,

Just thought I'd go ahead and admit to being from West Cobb. Got your name and current duty assignment from some of the folks whom you'll get to know and love in the days to come.

I'm an area Baptist pastor (retired from counter-terrorism and law enforcement) and I've had the privilege to spend time in study and fellowship and worship with some of the people who're part of your "new post."

I look forward to meeting you. Until then, be safe.

God's best!

Just saying Hello from the Great MidWest NOW (ObamaTramaLand, help me He's from HERE!) and saw your blog mentioned from Watchcat and Blackfive.
I'll be visiting often. Hope you're not from (gasp!) the BuckHead part of Atlanta are you? I used to work by 41 and West Paces, so I know that part of Atlanta well.

God Keep You Safe. Know that we all support you and your mission, and keep you in our prayers.

Jim,
it has taken me almost 7 days to figure out how to return a message, yet it took about 10 minutes to establish who the new pastor of MacEachern UMC was. Robyn was most secretive but as an x-military it was a vertual snap. Yes most of your hits were from your new congregation. Rumers travel faster than the trueth.
I served in the USAF in a medical squadron similar to your own and consequently find your blog bringing back days gone by.
We here in Powder Springs are looking forward to you August arrival with great anticipation. Robyn has had nothing but reassuring comments about you and your ability to be our new shepard. I know you were selected to be our "Preacher" [a Robyn word] by devine intervention.
You and your family will find your new family most wecoming.
Be safe and keep your tail down!

Chaplain Higgins,

I am originally from Columbus, GA, so I can appreciate heat and humidty.

I now live in Las Cruces, NM, where we are now posting high 90s and low 100s but in low humidity (30% is a wet spell) which is not likely the environment in Iraq.

Tell your troops that is Viet Nam veteran very much appreciates their service to our great country in the defense of our freedoms. I firmly believe that if we were not fighting radical islam (lower case intentional) in Iraq that we would be fighting them here.

GOD BLESS OUR WARRIOR DEFENDERS OF OUR WAY OF LIFE! AMEN!
